You can estimate that a pregnant bitch will be ready to whelp 63 days after ovulation (65 days post LH surge).  We recommend reverse progesterone testing if the timing for breeding is unsure or if the bitch is showing signs of labor before 63 days. After the progesterone levels fall below 2ng/ml the puppies are ready and mother will definitely go into labor within 24 hours.
